HOW TO PREPARE
Once the home check meeting has been arranged between the customer and the home inspector, the customer would need to ensure that the steps below are followed from the inspected property owner or operator to optimize the home check site visit:
- Clean the house
- Make sure all lights can turn on
- Make sure all electrical sockets work
- Make sure water heating system work
- Make sure the home heating system work
- Replace any bulbs that are out
- Clean stove, oven and kitchen ventilation from cooking grease
- Clean walls from stains and fix wall holes
- Ensure safe access to the roof
- Verify doors open and close properly and have their keys
- Verify windows open and close properly and lock
- Remove debris from the external areas, gutters, drainages, roof etc.
- Gather documentation like title deeds, building permit drawings, machinery warranty, renovation contract etc.
- Ensure that the external electrical boxes have their keys
